College Entrance Test Preparation

Unlike admission to high school, admission to college in India requires you to take several entrance tests. Unfortunately, there is no single entrance test in India that will qualify you to study at all the 1100 universities and colleges in India, as cataloged by the University Grants Commission, a Government of India body. No one size fits all when it comes to college admissions in India.
Even the CUET, which stands for the Combined University Entrance Test, covers a fragment of Indian universities, mostly government institutions. Vellore Institute of Technology, BITS Pilani, and a few other institutions that conduct captive entrance tests have been around for years. The Scholastic Assessment Test, known as the SAT, continues to expand its horizon in India and is used by almost all the top universities in India. Preparing for the SAT, therefore, is worthy of consideration.

How to prepare for Entrance Tests

There is some level of standardization in the entrance test curriculum across India. We would like to share a few pointers with you regarding test preparation:

  • Curricula
Most fortunately, the entrance test curricula are based on the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades of various Indian school boards such as the CBSE, ICSE, and state boards. The subject topics in these boards have a striking similarity, with one exception, which we have explained below.
  • IIT-JEE
The IIT-JEE entrance test goes beyond the Indian high school curriculum and incorporates additional topics that are mostly college-level. The key to success is to explore these topics in depth and achieve a high score on the IIT-JEE test.

Steps to Prepare for Entrance Tests

  • Decide, with our mentoring and guidance, which top universities in India you wish to consider.
  • Finalize the entrance test list.
  • Take the SAT if the top universities in India you have chosen accept the SAT, which will also qualify you for admission to foreign universities and facilitate your transfer to a foreign university without your having to lose a year.
  • Work with a qualified tutor to help you fill in the gaps for the entrance tests you have chosen.
  • Ask us to connect you with our impaneled online tutors and trainers, who are the best in the country.

The Pressure Cooker

We are fully aware of the fact that with your pre-board examinations, application process, and the Big Exam in spring, your plate is full. We therefore recommend that you remain totally focused on your 12th-grade board examinations, take the examinations, enjoy a short R&R break for three days, and rigorously start preparing for your entrance tests. Indian entrance tests, in many cases, are held soon after board examinations. Test registration, however, starts much earlier, and the deadlines are never soft.

So as you can tell, the journey commences well before your board examinations, which is why you should plan the journey meticulously, with our help, of course!
